The 'All Parents' page allows you to view, approve and disable the accounts of the parents in your Classlist community, as well as inviting new members to join and promoting existing members to become Class Reps.
By simply inputting the name, class and email address of a parent at your school, you can invite them to your school's Classlist and track when they join. These non-members will be included in announcement messages to the whole school or their class even before they join, so that you can reach all parents right from the start. Adding parents to this list can also help admins keep all parent contact details in the same place. Non-members do not appear in the classlists and need to join to access Classlist. They can of course opt out of receiving announcements.
Assigning Class Rep, PTA or Ambassador status to parents
Once a parent has joined and been approved you can assign them Ambassador, Class Rep or Community Rep status (admin statuses). You can do this in one of two ways. You can assign status through the 'Manage School Page' by clicking on the relevant pink + symbol, or by finding the parent on the 'All Parents' page. Once here, click on the parent you wish to promote and click 'Change Admin Status' on the left of their record and choose 'assign to admin role'.
If a parent's account is found to be outdated or in violation of Classlist's guidelines, School Ambassadors and Class Reps can disable the accounts of anyone in their school through the 'All Parents' page in the Admin Portal. The parent in question will then receive an email notification, giving them an opportunity to enquire or appeal. Once an account has been disabled it will remain visible on the 'All Parents' page and can be re-enabled by any admin at any time.
If someone leaves the school during the school year, a Class Rep or School Ambassador can remove them from your school's Classlist page. At the end of each school year, we'll ask the School Ambassador to do a quick check against lists provided by the school and 'move-up' all classes to the year above, removing anyone who has left.
