Parents and Admin users can use our paid event feature for collecting money for Christmas party restaurant deposits, quiz nights and even teacher's presents! Simply create an event and click the 'Add Ticket' button. You can add free tickets if you just need to limit numbers, or set up a PayPal account to enable parents to buy tickets online, directly from your Classlist site. Parents can purchase multiple tickets too!
Event organisers can keep track of their attendees, who has paid and how many tickets have been purchased via the 'Manage' button on their event's front page.
To make it super easy for event organisers and keep fund transfers secure, we use PayPal to manage the online payment process. This means that anyone with a PayPal account can collect money - such as a Class Admin organising a Christmas meal, or the PTA organising a Quiz Night.
Classlist does not charge any fees, but PayPal do charge transaction fees. To reduce your fees significantly we recommend your Parent or Friends' Association sets up a charity account with PayPal. To confirm registered charity status you will need proof of identity for the account holder and registration documents for the charity eg. Companies House or the Charity Commission.

How PayPal fees work
Paypal fees are 1.4% + 20p per transaction for charities and 3.4% + 20p per transaction for other accounts. This fee is deducted from the ticket price, parents do not have to pay the extra individually.
Take the following as examples:
Sarah buys four tickets so that their family can attend the school pantomime, the tickets cost £5 each, totaling £20.
Sarah will only pay £20, and can pay either with a debit/credit card or using her own PayPal account.
PayPal will deduct 3.4 % of £20, which is 68p, plus a further 20p, totaling 88p.
Mary buys two tickets to a summer barbecue at £5 each, totaling £10, though her PTA is registered as a charity.
Mary will pay £10 and PayPal will deduct 1.4 % of £10, which is 14p, plus 20p, totaling 34p.
Mary then wishes to buy another ticket. This counts as a separate transaction, so she will be charged another transaction fee.
Classlist does not charge any fees - Classlist is a completely free service.
When you calculate your ticket price please calculate and incorporate the Paypal fee, so that the amount you receive via Paypal after commission is the amount you expect!
