Basic formatting functions are available in the text box in Announcements, but you may want to add more symbols. Here is a list of incredibly useful alt codes which you can use to format your Classlist Announcements.
Extra Symbols
PC Users - hold down the Alt key on your keyboard and enter the numbers using your number pad (not the numbers above the letter keys).
Mac Users - hold down the control, command and space keys on the keyboard. This brings up a box with a vast range of characters, emojis and symbols. Simply double click on the character you want and it will appear in the text.

Emojis ✨🎄❤️✅
Desktop

Mobile
You can use the emoji keyboard to easily add emojis from your phone.
Switch Devices
You could also start your message on desktop (if it was long and you have info to paste from other sources) save it as a draft and switch to mobile to use the emoji keyboard for the finishing touches.
