Classlist allows comments to be locked on events, posts and announcement. The person who created the content and all event owners will see this option in their menu. Ambassadors can use the monitor community feature if commenting is an issue on a parents post.
Locking comments on posts
Sometimes the creator of a post wants to lock the comments so no-one can add any more. Simply click into your post and use the 3 dots at the top right to open the menu. Then switch the comments on/off depending on your preference.
Locking comments on announcements
For announcements, you can lock comments on the parent side or the admin side. Either way use the 3 dots menu at the top right. Comments can be locked by the Admin that created the announcement.
Locking Comments on Events
This can be done from the parent side once the event is published.
- Find the event in the calendar or in the feed and select it.
- Click on the 3 dots menu at the top right
- Event organisers will have the option to turn off comments.
Unfollowing a post that I don't want to receive any more notifications for
If you create or comment on something, then you will automatically 'follow' that post or announcement, (even if you have opted in your settings not to receive comments on all other posts). 'Following a post' means you will be notified if others comment after you, because you may want to comment again.
If you don't wish to be notified of subsequent comments on any particular post or announcement you can turn off notifications just for that post or announcement. You won't receive any more notifications of comments on that post. This does not change your overall notification settings.
