There are a number of different ways to communicate on Classlist so this article aims to give an overview on each.
- Post to the Parent Board. This is a quick and effective way to communicate to a selected group of parents (or the whole school if this is enabled at your school). Posts can contain text, emojis and pictures and are also emailed to anyone who missed them in the app (depending on user settings).
- Post or Browse in Marketplace. This works like a virtual noticeboard. Parents can let others know they have items for sale or are interested in buying something in particular. Parents can also post recommendations or requests for services such as babysitters.
- Create a Private Event. Use Classlist to create events and invite others parents or even entire Classes. Perfect for birthday parties or playdates.
- Send an Announcement. Announcements get sent as an email as well as appearing on the Classlist site, making them an effective way of communicating important messages to a large group. Announcements even get sent to 'Non Member contacts' who have not yet signed up to Classlist, so no-one will miss out!
- Create a Community Event. These can be created by admin users and can have free or paid tickets or just be a date for the diary. They can be sent to selected groups or the whole school. These events automatically invite any parents who join an invited Class/Year after the original invitation was sent out.
- Send a Private Message. Classlist can be used to send private messages to parents too. Parents can even set up private messages with a small group of people as well one to one conversations.
