As an Administrator or Staff Admin, you may find that sometimes you need to move a pupil or group of pupils for whatever reason. When you move a pupil, the parent/s will automatically be moved as well.
NB: click here if you are doing the whole school move up ready for the new academic year.
- Navigate to the school structure on the admin side and find the year group or class that you want to move pupils from. We recommend doing this on a computer rather than a phone due to the screen layout.
- Select the pupils you wish to move (ensure you click on the pupil name rather than the parent name otherwise you will be taken to the parent profile).
Tip: Use the 'select all' button if you are moving everyone, or if you are just moving one pupil, use the search feature to find him/her.
- Once at least one pupil is selected a dropdown menu will appear, this contains a list of all the classes so you can select the correct one to move pupils to. The option to delete the selected pupils will also appear which can be used to remove leavers (parents will need to be deactivated separately).
- From the dropdown menu click and select the Class or Year that you wish to move the pupils to. (If a year group contains classes you will need to put the child into one of the classes rather than directly into the year - the year group will show as greyed out and you won't be able to select it).
- Once you have selected the correct class click move to confirm the change.
Moving a Pupil(s)
- Click to select. To select a pupil (s) you just need to click and release on their name in the right hand column. You can select multiple pupils one after the other, or click the 'Select All' button to select every pupil in your current Year/Class selection.
- Use the Drop Down Box. You can send selected pupils to another Class/Year by selecting a new class from the drop-down box at the top right, then tapping 'Move'.
- Removing/deleting pupils. Once you have selected a pupil, you can choose to delete them from Classlist. This will not remove the parent from Classlist, but will remove their pupil.
Tip: Only delete pupils if you are 100% certain you need to. If you remove a pupil by mistake, send the parent a message. They can re-add a pupil by visiting their Profile, My Children page. If you are unsure where to put a pupil you can always put them in an 'unassigned' year/class until you can check with the parent or school staff.
