As exciting as the end of school can be (at least for the kids!), it also brings with it its own sense of sadness. When children move on to different new schools, parents can find it hard to stay in touch with the friends they have made over the years. Classlist provides a great solution to this problem.
Administrators can create a Leavers/Alumni Year in the school structure for the parents/carers of those children who are leaving. This allows members to stay in contact via Classlist, even if they end up moving to the other side of the world! Since people who have left are unlikely to want to stay quite as much involved with day-to-day school business, you can send an announcement to the group when you set it up, recommending that they adjust their notifications settings in their profiles so that they only receive the notifications they want. Members who still have children lower down the school may still opt to receive all notifications.
Members don't need a separate log in even if they join a second school's Classlist site, since you can be a member of multiple schools on Classlist under the same account.
It is helpful to create different Alumni groups for each year, eg called Leavers 2016, Leavers 2017 etc. They can be managed in exactly the same way as a standard class, so there is no need to worry about extra hassle!
