FAQ: Some new parents joined Classlist before we moved up our classes so they are in the wrong year. What should I do?

If you have ended up with parents in the wrong year, don't worry.

Re-name the year groups and add 20-21.  eg Year 8 (20-21)

We have a search function that allows you to find new joiners in the last 4 months on the 'All Parents' page using a filter.

Open Classlist on two browser tabs.   Keep one on the School Structure.  Then look on the 'All parents' page and filter it by 'joined in the last 4 months'. 

You could then move any of the Year 8 joiners to Year 7 on the School Structure.   If you don't know the class you could have an extra class in Year 7 called 'class unassigned'.

You could then post in Year 7 and say 'I have moved you all here as I think you are Year 7 parents, but if anyone is meant to be in year 8 please let me know'.

Parents can also edit the year and class themselves by editing the pupil details on their profile.  So you could ask them to move themselves into the right class.

Alternatively, schools can legally help you with moving pupils around by giving the PTA a list of pupils and their classes.  So you could ask the school for the list of pupils, or ask a Staff Admin to help with checking the pupils are in the right year.
