Parents sometimes like to see who else is going to an event either before getting tickets themselves or to check who else they can share tables/lifts etc with. We found that most parents like this feature and it can also help with ticket sales as it encourages people to join in.
To see who else is going, open the event in the app and click on the 'guests' tab and then go to the 'see all' link. This gives the names of any Classlist parents and shows as 'public guest' for non-members who have used the public checkout to get tickets. The names are only visible to other parents who are registered on Classlist and have been invited to the same event.
Privacy for event attendees
Occasionally a parent will not want others to know they are attending an event due to privacy concerns. If your school has this situation you could switch on the public checkout and get a link to give to the parent so they could sign up that way. They would need to use a different email address than the one that is registered to Classlist so the tickets don't get associated with their account.
Other people wouldn't know about the link unless you share it elsewhere and only people with the link will be able to sign up. Anyone who signs up with the public link won't be able to see the list of others who are going and will be listed as 'public guest' rather than by their name in the list of people attending the event.
If the reason for the concern is to do with a situation such as an ex partner knowing which events someone will be at, then please note that Ambassadors/Staff Admins don't have to allow every parent access to Classlist - they can remove anyone at any time for any reason. So this is an option available to schools if they feel it's an appropriate course of action.
In addition parents can report any other parent account or post/comment on the platform or block contact from other parents if they choose.
