Personalised notifications

We are on a mission to make parent life easier and are keen to help you cut through the noise to find what matters to you & quickly. So we’ve introduced a new daily digest to help. It will keep you up-to-date on all activity relevant to you on Classlist - in just one hit each day - so you don't have to be switched 'on' to a constant feed of notifications in case you miss something.

Now, we’ll also automatically optimise your notifications settings depending on how you use Classlist - so you don’t have to!

The daily digest

Personalised to you and filtered, the daily digest includes new posts & comments only on your groups. It separates out new events and Marketplace posts, making it easy for you to find important info quickly, and it also lets you know when a new parent joins.

If you have opted out of the weekly digest, you’ll not receive the daily digest (you can change your settings here if you wish).

How do you optimise my notifications?

If you have downloaded the App, we will optimise your settings so:

• You’ll only get individual emails sent to you about key things such as new announcements, invites to events, and changes to events. You’ll receive notifications of all activity on your Classlist in real time via in-app notifications - so there’s no point us telling you twice!
• You’ll also get a personalised daily digest as a helpful round up of the all new activity on your Classlist that day. (On a Thursday, the daily digest is replaced by the weekly digest.)
• New Marketplace posts will appear in the digests and will be separated out from your other posts.
• You aren’t notified about Whole School Posts by default as these aren’t always relevant to every parent - you can see these on the App.

If you’re not on the App yet, we will optimise your settings so:

• We’ll send you individual emails about key things such as new announcements, invites to events and changes to events, as well as new posts on your groups and when you are sent a private message.
• You’ll get a personalised daily digest so you can see all the activity that has happened on your Classlist that day. This will include new comments on your groups, on events you have been invited to, and on announcements - which you won't be emailed individually about. (On a Thursday, the daily digest is replaced by the weekly digest.)
• Please note, the App is the best place to stay up-to-date in real time about what’s going on.
• You aren’t notified about Whole School Posts by default as these aren’t always relevant to every parent - you can see these when you log on to Classlist.
• New Marketplace posts will appear in the digests and will be separated out from your other posts.

We are optimising the daily digest too, so that if you don’t open it for several days then we’ll switch you back to just getting the weekly digest - the idea is that by optimising your notifications based on how you use Classlist, you won't need to. One less thing for you to do.

If you wish, you can choose your own notification preferences - just go to the 'notification settings' page in your profile area.

Already set your own notification settings? We won’t override these. In particular if you have opted out of the weekly digest, you’ll not receive the daily digest.
