How To Find Breakdown of Fees on Stripe

Classlist does not store or hold any card or payment details for financial transactions.  Payments are all processed by Stripe, and payment and fee details can be found there. 

An Ambassador (or the person with Stripe access) should log in to your PTA Stripe account to obtain or download the information.

If you are looking to get a detailed breakdown on Classlist and Stripe fees paid for an event, in your Stripe account, go to the Transactions page, and there is an 'Export' button on the right above the list of transactions

Choose the date range you want to cover all your transactions, and change the data being exported from 'Default 23 columns' to 'All 85 columns'. Or you could select a few columns if you prefer:

The Classlist platform fee is in the Connect section of the columns called 'Application fee' and it is 1.5%.

The main 'fee' shown in the 23 column export is an earlier column of the 85 column spreadsheet exported and that shows the total of the Stripe fee and the Classlist fee combined.

So to find the Stripe fee you would subtract the Classlist fee from the total fee.

Fees on a single transaction

You can click on any individual transaction in the Stripe list of transactions to open the details about that transaction.

There you will see Payment breakdown > Fees

If you expand Fees It will show you

• Stripe processing fee
• Classlist application fee

So you can cross reference that against the fees to export to check you are seeing the right information.

Classlist platform fees

• Classlist charges 1.5% platform fees for events with paid tickets, which is cheaper than other platforms. See more information on setting up an Event.
• Classlist charges 4.5% for raffle ticket sales, which is cheaper than other raffle platforms. Classlist has an automated online draw and sends notifications to the winners. See more information about running a Raffle on Classlist.

Stripe Payment processor fee

• Transactions also have payment processor fees, charged by Stripe.
• The standard fee in the UK is 1.5% + 20p per transaction
• Charitable status - reduce your Stripe fee to 1.3% + 20p per transaction by contacting Stripe 
• Stripe fees vary by country and region.
• If you enable 'local payment methods' on Stripe the fees for those methods will vary and you should check the local payment method fees before enabling them.
